One baby was strapped on my back as the other crawled in the playground. I worked 12 hour days over months of sanding, and taking wallpaper off, all with one child. Ha! To stay within budget, I began taking my kids to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Each week we would spend Thursday to Saturday at garage sales and estate sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. Then I stenciled and polished the driveway during the workweek. The furniture I found looked similar to... this is the moment my love for restoring furniture began. It didn't matter if our house had already been equipped. There was a market in the area for me to market my items. It was possible to expand my space because I owned numerous pieces I needed. My home was where I started hosting open houses where more than 1000 people could come in to purchase anything they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. That's how my company Growing Days was born. As my business flourished and so did our small family. In the following time I began to take on customers according to my schedule. Soon I had multiple accounts, as well as a house renovations business. Most likely, I would have laughed if someone had told me the business was going to be part of a forthcoming tv program on DIY Network. It's fun to reflect on it.
